VerifiR Is Now WaveOn, and Here’s Why

We wanted to share the news of an exciting update. VerifiR will now be known as WaveOn. We’d love to explain the change, why we’re excited about it, and why you should be, too.

Think back to before the pandemic…

When we started VerifiR, the focus was creating an authentication platform to give customers confidence in what they purchased from our partners. As time went by, three events made clear this vision needed refining:

1.     NFC support for iPhone

In 2018, almost a decade behind Android, Apple opened iPhone to support NFC reading from the home screen. Embracing this shift enabled hundreds of millions of new phones to scan NFC tags.

2.     The pandemic accelerated behavioral changes

Though contactless credit and debit cards had been slowly gaining popularity, the pandemic pushed people to adopt contactless cards and mobile wallets.

3.     The metaverse, Web3, and retail reset

These three terms were unknown a couple of years ago but now are on the minds of marketers everywhere trying to foresee what the next normal looks like.

We asked ourselves, how will customers engage with brands in 2022 and beyond?

The landscape changed, so in 2022 WaveOn was born.

WaveOn represents our vision to make consumer engagement as frictionless as possible. We implemented our blueprint with a keen eye on the future, lifting our clients onto the wave of fusing physical products with the emergence of a digital metaverse to drive online growth.

The new name embodies two pillars of this blueprint: simple seamless connectivity and instant elevation of consumers into a digital dimension previously unrealized by physical products.

We will continually integrate breakout technology into our platform to differentiate your brand at retail and delight your customers. Our new modular interface easily turns smartphones into a gateway to richer experiences.

We’re excited about this digital future – and you should be, too. Many of our customers are already finding great success with our technology and taking it even further. Together, we’re on to something big here, and each day comes with new validation of the direction we are heading in.

Many great new capabilities are in development, and we’ll share our ongoing plans with you here as WaveOn builds momentum.
